Attackers Exploiting Recent Flaws In IE7, Acrobat Reader

Recent reports indicate attackers are taking advantage of flaws in Internet Explorer 7 and Acrobat Reader to take control of people’s computers. All that is necessary to carry out the attack is to get the users to open documents poisoned with the attacker’s software.

In the case of Internet Explorer 7, a patch was released by Microsoft last week. If you haven’t already, please make sure to apply the patch as soon as possible.

For Acrobat Reader, Adobe reportedly will not release a patch for the security hole until March 11. You can mitigate this risk by using alternative PDF reader software, such as Foxit, until the security vulnerability is patched.
